When dialogue was still possible: "Budrus" (Palestinian Docu, 2009)

The 2023 attacks by Hamas proved devastating for both Israel and ordinary Palestinians. 14 years earlier, it took a village to unite the most divided people on earth. Back then, the documentary "Budrus" offered both sobering and cheering evidence that progress is possible.

Filmmaker Julia Bacha follows community organizer Ayed Morrar, who seeks help from Palestinian and Israeli activists to help his village mount nonviolent protests against Israel's expropriation of their West Bank land. "Budrus" (2010, 82 min) is an illuminating documentary on many levels.
