As part of her residency with the Creative Generation Performance Lab, artist Sasa Cabalquinto will lead a special lecture workshop introducing Butoh through the lens of Filipino cultural concepts.
The Kapwa Butoh workshop invites participants to explore the Filipino context of Butoh by integrating motivations and movement exercises centered on Kapwa β the shared self, or the self in the other. The session will also open pathways into the valuable Filipino sensibilities of walang malay (the unconscious body/self) and pakikiramdaman (sensory and perceptive awareness).
This workshop is designed for all ages from teens onward, with no prior background in Butoh, dance, or the performing arts required. It aims to plant a seed of interest in Butoh as a movement practice within the Cambodian arts community.
β¨ The workshop is free to join, but please complete and submit the registration form to confirm your attendance.
