Postcards for Progress

Bring your family to draw, color, and customize your own advocacy postcard, screenprinted and designed by Artist-in-Residence, Aimee Koran. Speak with the artist about the process of creating her work MSS (an acronym for Mama Space Suit) made with the FWM Studio.

Koran’s practice is centered around the idea of invisible labor, specific to mothers, pregnancy, and birth. Her piece MSS positions the work of motherhood as vital, brave, and worthy of our reverence. Inspired by her work with national organization Moms Rising and local organization Maternity Care Coalition, Koran reminds us all that the art of creating is a form of advocacy and radical change can come from the simplest of actions.
