TSTMRKT, the performance art collective that brought you The Holy Church of Bezos, Everyone Loves Dick, and the epynomous TSTMRKT, is back with their latest creation: Dijon
Written, directed, and performed by Las Vegas artist Ernest Hemmings, Dijon is a disjointed, "exploded view" story that weaves together the "true" reality of the character, and the imagined reality the character experiences. It's like Plato's "Cave" only with disco music and sex work thrown in for good measure.
Dijon utilizes TSTMRKT's signature "all gas, no brakes" framing device using a single, timed soundtrack played back on a moribund, early-80s boombox, and timed film loops that synchronize (if we're lucky) with the sound and action on stage.
Dijon is being co-produced by TSTMRKT and the Cannonball Festival.
