Introduction to foam construction: Make a cosplay helmet!

Join Hollywood special effects artist Sally Ray for this fun dive into foam construction. From battle helms to witches hats and beyond, create your own cosplay headgear.

In this 3 part series, you will learn the basics of making 3D shapes from patterned 1/2” EVA foam

Class 1: Nov 5 - intro to making 3d shape with EVA sheet foam, choosing a helmet pattern, heat forming and contraction tips. Cut, assemble and fit your helmet base, fill / seal seams

Class 2: Wednesday Nov 12 - add embellishments, carve details, add textures. Finally, add a seal coat and prep for paint and finish

Class 3: Wednesday Nov 19- Painting, aging and finishing

Age: 12 and up
