Fremantle Biennale comes to Melville for one night only
On Saturday, 15 November, experience an unforgettable evening of music and performance set against the beautiful Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River).
This free, family-friendly event is brought to you by the creators of the much-loved First Lights drone shows that lit up the Melville skies in 2021 and 2023 – now returning with an entirely new experience.
✨ Event Program
5.30pm – Lowerlands parking opens
6.15pm – Vespers at Waylen Bay, Applecross
Gather by the shoreline as a floating choir and couta boats fill the horizon with live-mixed compositions. Returning after captivating audiences in 2021, now with brand-new technology.
7.00pm – Food vendors open at the Lowerlands
7.30pm – Sanctuary Within at the Goolugatup Lowerlands
Spread out a picnic blanket, enjoy local food, and experience maloya – the sacred improvised music, dance, and ritual form of Réunion Island. Once banned for its ties to enslaved peoples, maloya returns here in full force with music, movement, and celebration.
🎶 Perfect for all ages, music lovers, and anyone curious to see local spaces in a whole new way.
Accessibility
