How to Build a Mia Mia

Create a traditional Aboriginal shelter with Betty Garlett.

A free hands-on workshop for parents, grandparents and children to learn about First Nations traditions, storytelling, art, and histories

Led by Noongar Elder Betty Garlett, the workshop will guide you through building a Mia Mia, a traditional Aboriginal shelter, using natural materials. Learn how these materials were sourced and used, and gain insight into the cultural knowledge passed down through shelter building.
