Mesmerising, elegant and electric, Grammy Award-winning jazz guitarist Bill Frisell returns to Australia for a one-night-only performance at PIJF 2025.

Dubbed “one of the most distinctive and original improvising guitarists of our time” by the New York Times, Frisell has been a seminal figure in modern American music for over 40 years, astoundingly original and breathtakingly prolific.

🎸 With a repertoire that saunters between jazz, bluegrass, country, rock and folk, interwoven with metamorphic splendor and bursts of the avant-garde, Frisell’s sound traverses the sweep of contemporary American musical history, whilst always maintaining a uniquely identifiable sound.

Frisell’s trio is completed by two of the most in-demand jazz musicians on the international scene—Thomas Morgan (bass) and Rudy Royston (drums).
