The inaugural National Public Lands Day, originally known as "Public Lands Appreciation Day," took place on July 30, 1994. National Public Lands Day (4th Saturday of September) is organized annually and led by the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), in partnership with the National Park Service and other federal agencies.

Volunteer to clean up debris along the lower Salt River with the Tonto National Forest (TNF) Mesa Ranger District River Rangers (RR) while enjoying the outdoors and cooling off at the river this summer!
Tonto volunteer pass (duration of the event), trash bags, and trash grabbers will be provided. Haul back provided unless carpooling with other volunteers. Youth volunteers welcome with parental supervision.
This is a bring your own watercraft event. PFD required.
Put-in/Take-out locations TBD, but will include Water Users, Pebble Beach, Blue Point, Sheep's Crossing, Goldfield, Phon D Sutton, and Granite Reef.
Events run approx. 4 hours.
