Not many artists turn away from the bright lights of mainstream success, yet that’s exactly what Zonderling has done. Having enjoyed and appreciate global visibility with hits like ‘Crazy’ and ‘Love To Go’, the Dutch duo, consisting of Martijn van Sonderen (producer) and Jaap de Vries (DJ), decided to make an uncompromised return to their roots. In doing so, Zonderling have tightened their ship, choosing only a handful of venues to work with and keeping their release schedule to a minimum. In the meanwhile reconnecting with the vibe of earlier productions like ‘Sonderling’ and ‘Tunnel Vision’, taking themselves back to the dark, strobe-lit energy of intimate dance floors. Not only through sound, but also by giving their tracks a Dutch title, like they used to do. Ultimately, Zonderling’s story is about artistic freedom and being solely focused on continuing their own vision and version of today’s electronic music.
