Yasmine Carvalho, known simply as Yasmine, is a renowned kizomba singer and one of the emerging figures in African music. Born in Lisbon, Yasmine grew up in a culturally diverse environment with influences from Guinea's rich musical tradition and her Cape Verdean and Lebanese roots. Inspired by renowned PALOP artists, Yasmine has developed her own style, marked by the fusion of traditional rhythms with modern influences. The release of her first single, "Apaixona", in 2015 marked Yasmine's official entry into the music scene. The song was well received, not only in Guinea-Bissau, but also in other Portuguese-speaking communities such as Cape Verde, Angola, Mozambique and Portugal. Yasmine's soft, melodic voice combined with romantic lyrics and sophisticated arrangements, quickly made her stand out as one of the promises of Kizomba. By 2017, Yasmine already had a wide range of songs with millions of views, consolidating her position in the music industry and allowing her to perform in countries such as Portugal, France, the United States, Cape Verde, Angola, and many others. In 2023, she collaborated with Deejay Telio on the hit "Solteiros", with the release reaching the Double Platinum mark in less than a year, while accumulating millions of streams with "Só Nós 2" or "Preta", alongside singer Neyna, and being appointed EQUAL ambassador for Spotify Portugal. In 2024, Yasmine is preparing to release her first album of originals.
