Tonion is the main artist name of cellist, producer, composer & arranger Tim Binder. Having started playing the cello at the age of four, Tim discovered that music was going to be his favorite life language. He also began playing the piano, joined several orchestras and chamber music ensembles, participating at competitions and concert tours throughout the EU, the US, Japan and Australia and eventually earned a degree in both Music and English. During his time at university, Tim fostered his musical interests outside of his classical upbringing, becoming heavily obsessed with mid-twentieth century movements, jazz and hip-hop. As Tonion, he releases mostly beat-centered works in the diverse realms of lofi, trying to maintain genre fluidity within them and always putting his own style of storytelling first. Tonion is Tim's evermoving project with defined intentions. Through this, he is releasing a collaborative album with Hoffy Beats in 2024 - an album that aims to push the boundaries of both artists’ established sounds. Sharing his ideas through a total of three different lenses, Tim’s chill vibes will be found on pines & pines from 2024 onwards, while he explores more experimental approaches on his arthouse page time•bender. Tim also contributes cello arrangements to productions by amazing musicians from all over the world.
