About Tercer Cielo

Tercer Cielo is a Contemporary Christian Latin pop duo comprised of husband-and-wife team Juan Carlos Rodríguez and Evelyn Herrera. Their hit singles and albums have established them as an international multi-platinum selling entity. They have toured extensively and received multiple nominations for Latin Grammy, Billboard Latin Music Awards, and Premios Lo Nuestro. They have won awards at Premios Arpa BMI Latin Music Awards, Premios Casandra, and Premios Unción. The group was originally founded in the Dominican Republic in 2000 by friend Marcos Yaroide. This version of the act issued three albums -- En Ti (2000), Tercer Cielo (2003), and Ahora Tengo Mas (2005) -- before Yaroide left for a solo career. Rodriguez had previously met Mexican/American singer Evelyn Herrera while producing one of her musical projects. After a long friendship they were married in 2006. In 2007, Herrera abandoned her solo career for Tercer Cielo. Their debut recording in this new incarnation was Llueve on Baltuco that same year. The group kicked off 2008 with Hollywood, which contained the hit singles "Héroe" and "Cada Día." Two albums were released in 2009, Historia de Amor and the compilation Gente Comun, Sueños Extraordinarios. The latter contained the hits "Mí Último Día" and "Yo Te Extrañaré." Their singles and rising visibility on the Latin pop and social media scenes resulted in their live album, 2010's En Concierto Creere. That same year, Tercer Cielo performed with Ricardo Montaner and Milly Quezada at Billboard's Latin Music Awards. Viaje a Las Estrellas was released in 2011 and contained the smash single "Tu Amor No Es de Este Mundo" and "Un Dia Mejor." Lo Que el Viento Me Enseño, issued in 2012, included the hit "Demente," which featured a guest vocal from Annette Moreno, and "Yo Te Extrañaré" among others. After a short break to set up their own independent label, Fe y Obra Music, which was distributed by Vene Music and Universal Latin Entertainment, the duo issued its pre-release single "No Crezcas Más." Album Irreversible was released in October of 2014. ~ Thom Jurek, Rovi
