Singer-songwriter So!YoON! began her music career by launching the band SE SO NEON at eighteen. Winning Rookie of the Year and Best Rock Song at the Korean Music Awards, they ended their first year on a high note as the hottest up-and-coming band in the Korean music scene. They expanded their territory to overseas in the following year and performed in broader Asia, Europe and North America. Chosen by Fender as their 2020 Global Artist, SE SO NEON now garners audiences from all over the world. After such a feat, Soyoon, stylized as So!YoON!, embarked on her solo career which she had been planning for since her teenage years. she showcased an entirely different character from herself in SE SO NEON by presenting a more salient presence of her vocals, new visuals, and contemporary R&B unlike the band’s rock music. She released her first album So!YoON! the following May. Most notably, the first album was born out of a collaboration with an artist and producer very well versed in various genres from. Once again creating a sensation with an album that dismantles preconceived categories of music and rather declares a new genre called So!YoON!, she marked the beginning of her solo career and thrived on as an unrivaled icon, receiving invitations to Taiwan and SXSW, as well as becoming the face for various brands including adidas, LEVI’S and Meta Korea.
