Shalmali Kholgade is a versatile artist based in Mumbai, India. Known for her roles as a playback singer, songwriter, and composer, she began her journey in the playback singing arena more than a decade ago, delivering hits such as "Pareshaan" (2012), "Daaru Desi" (2012), and "Balam Pichkari" (2013). In 2019, Shalmali embarked on a new chapter, diving into the independent music space. Driven by a resolve to share her own story through her songs, she attended a summer program at Berklee, where she gathered the courage to work on some of her unfinished music. She hasn’t looked back since, and her independent portfolio encompasses a diverse collection of English and Hindi originals, along with collaborations with industry stalwarts like Sunidhi Chauhan, Vishal Dadlani, Rajan Batra, and Hanumankind. Some of her notable singles include "Ruka Ruka" (2019) and "Kalle Kalle'' (2020). More recently, she has released two back-to-back full-length albums, "2XSideA" (2021) and "2X SideB" (2022). Despite her focus on independent endeavors, Shalmali's impact on Bollywood remains significant on the back of hits like "Beqaaboo" from ‘Gehraiyaan’ (2022), and “Dil Ki Mez” from ‘Merry Christmas’ (2024). With over 500+ performances worldwide, Shalmali is a talented dancer and a captivating live performer. With numerous releases lined up in the coming months, Shalmali continues her grind, making significant waves in the Indian music industry!
