About Sam MacPherson

Legendary poet Allen Ginsberg passed away on April 5, 1997 in Manhattan, NY. Just across the Hudson River in New Jersey, Sam MacPherson was welcomed into the world on the very same day. You could certainly say when one poet leaves this mortal coil, another arrives—albeit in a different form…  In the most unassuming and best possible tribute to Ginsberg, the 27-year-old singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist speaks his truth directly from the heart and without filter. Racking up streams and views in the hundreds of millions, attracting a devout fan base, and earning critical acclaim. For the music making this time around, he chose to work with BRIT Award-winning UK-based producer Thom Lewis [Sam Fender] behind the board. After an inspiring meeting in London, Sam invited Thom back to New Jersey, so “he could be immersed in my life, he could meet my best friends, my parents, the characters and the people that raised me.” Holing up in the studio for two months, he made another pivotal decision to track the entirety of August Always live with a full band for the first time. Channeling raw energy, he and his bandmates recorded these songs “all in the same room, staring at each other and going for it.” Sam’s life story begins with two new singles “August Always” and “I’m Not From Anywhere Else”
