Pino D'Angiò was one of the most renowned Italian singers worldwide. He made his debut in 1979 with the song "E’ libero scusi?" and in 1980 topped the charts in 22 countries with his most successful work - the song "Ma quale idea" – which sold over 2 million copies in Italy and 12 million copies worldwide. In the same year, he was awarded as best Italian lyricist and best foreign singer in Spain and he won the "Gondola D'Argento" award at the Venice International Music Exhibition. In 1990, together with Bruno Sanchioni, D’Angiò produced the hit "The Age of Love", that sold 20 million copies worldwide and that has been defined as the first expression of "trance" music by critics. In 2001 D’Angiò won the Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in the USA and few years later, in 2003, he was the only italian artist to join the "World Tribute to the Funk", published by Sony Music. Over the years he has composed songs for various artists - including Mina - and has written and run different radio and TV shows. His music has been chosen by many international brands (such as Movistar, Chanel, Dior, Amazon) for events and commercials. With Gianni Morandi, Eros Ramazzotti, Mogol, and other artists, D'angiò is one of the founders of the "Nazionale Italiana Cantanti", an Italian charity association.
