Upcoming Oscar Maydon Tour
Part of Mexico's alternative corrido scene, Oscar Maydon is known for his warm, matter-of-fact tenor and distinctive merger of pop melodies, Latin folk, and traditional Mexican music. He emerged with his debut single, "De la Nació," in 2020 and soon teamed up with corrido contemporaries including Natanael Cano and Legado 7. After releasing his first album, GXLE <3, in 2022, Maydon made his debut on the Billboard Hot 100 with 2023's "Fin de Semana," a collaboration with Junior H in January, kicking off a year that saw him release 26 singles including "Antidoto" (feat. Fuerza Regida) and "John Wick" (feat. Herencia De Grandes). In December, Maydon released four singles including "Kim Kardashian" (feat. Tyga) and "Mexican Flan" (feat. Codiciado). Two days later, he delivered his sophomore long-player Distorsión. Oscar Rene Maydon Meza was born in Baja California, Mexico at the tail-end of the '90s. He launched his recording career in July 2020 with the G24 Records release "De la Nació." It caught the attention of Jimmy Humilde, who was looking for regional corrido artists to join musicians like Natanael Cano on his Rancho Humilde label. Maydon made his Rancho Humilde debut in early 2021 with "En el Espacio," a collaboration with Legado 7. A duet with Cano, "La Noche Empieza," followed in April, and, between solo outings, he also teamed up with Polo Gonzalez on "Finta de Fresa" before the end of the year. Early 2022 saw the release of Maydon's full-length debut, GXLE <3, which included "Finta de Fresa" alongside solo tracks and collaborations with El Chachito, Joel Nuñez, and Ivan Orozco. A string of additional duets followed later in the year, among them "El Buda" with Calle 24 and "Hoy" with Manuel Rodriguez. Maydon enjoyed his U.S. Hot 100 debut when "Fin de Semana," a duet with Junior H, debuted at number 86 on the chart in February 2023. He followed it that year with a quick succession of over two-dozen singles, including "Skin de Bandida" (with Junior H and Gabito Ballesteros), "Cuerno Mio" (with Junior H), and "F*ck" (with Los Gemelos de Sinaloa). In December 2023, Maydon delivered four pre-release singles to streaming: "Tipo Gatsby" (feat. Natanael Cano and Gabito Ballesteros), "Kim Kardashian" (feat. Tyga), "Mexican Flan" (feat. Codiciado), and "Elvira (feat. Gabito Ballesteros and Chino Pacas). Just two days later he delivered his second long-player, the 17-song Distorsión.
