結成23周年ビジュアル系バンド。2003年、シングル「-Believe-」でメジャーデビュー、2006年に発売されたシングル「the WORLD/アルミナ」がアニメ「DEATH NOTE」のテーマソングに起用、オリコン週間チャート初登場5位、2007年には初の日本武道館公演を実施。 2016年バンド活動を一時休止、 2020年 活動再開、2月11日横浜アリーナにて「NIGHTMARE 20th Anniversary SPECIAL LIVE ”GIANIZM 〜再悪〜”」を開催。 10月シングル「ink」オリコン8位。12月ツアーファイナルを中野サンプラザで行う。2021年「cry for the moon」オリコン3位（3/15付）獲得。リリースツアー、バースデイライブの実施。11 月『デュエル・マスターズ キング!』OP 「Sinners」をリリース。ツアーファイナルを LINE CUBE SHIBUYA にて行う。2022年3月には7年ぶりのフルアルバム「NOX:LUX」リリース、ツアーを実施。11月シングル「With」をリリース＜アニメ「最後の召喚師 -The Last Summoner-」OP＞、全国ツアーをTOYO DOME CITY HALL で締めくくる。Visual-kei band celebrating 23 years since their formation, they made their major debut in 2003 with the single "-Believe-", and in 2006, their single "the WORLD/Alumina" was used as the theme song for the anime "DEATH NOTE", and debuted at No. 5 on the Oricon Charts, and in 2007, they held their first Budokan concert. In 2007, the band performed at the Nippon Budokan for the first time. The band temporarily suspended their activities in 2016, but resumed in 2020, holding "NIGHTMARE 20th Anniversary SPECIAL LIVE "GIANIZM ~Re-Evil~" at Yokohama Arena on February 11. Oct: Single "ink" reached No.8 on Oricon; Dec: Tour finale at Nakano Sunplaza; 2021: "cry for the moon" reached No.3 on Oricon . Nov: Released "Duel Masters King! OP "Sinners" was released. In Mar 2022, they released their first full album , "NOX:LUX".Nov:Released the single "With" in November (OP of the anime "The Last Summoner"), and will close the tour at TOYO DOME CITY HALL.
