Los Angeles based emcee Nieve combines vivid poetic lyrics and smooth flows to create a unique and positive take on Hip-Hop music. Inspired by Jazz and 90’s Hip-Hop, Nieve’s voice and flow immediately set the tone for a soulful, mellow vibe. Nieve (pronounced ‘naive’) has been showcasing his hypnotizing lyrical flow since 2007 with his album: Nieve and Cook, "Away With Words" produced by Cook Classics. His conscious rap style and silky-smooth delivery gained the interest of Tokyo based hiphop label, Goontrax. A series of album collaborations and live shows across Asia and Europe were to follow. Nieve would go on to collaborate with New Zealand producer SoulChef, and together have collaborated on many projects over the years, from Nieve’s 2010 album “Playback” to the more recent releases, Nieve and SoulChef: “Sunflower in the Sunlight” (2016) and “Step into the Ghost” (2017). One song in particular, "Write This Down" from his Sunflower in the Sunlight album would garner major success on social media platforms, thanks to a viral mashup with rap legend, The Notorious BIG. Inspired equally by Jazz artists like John Coltrane and Miles Davis, as well as hiphop legends like Biggie, Nas, and Mos Def - Nieve has crafted his own original style. A poet with a purpose.
