Mata (or actually Michal Matczak) is a Polish rapper and songwriter born in 2000. Mata is one of the most famous debuts in the history of Polish music. At the beginning of 2020, Mata's debut studio album 100 dni do matury (100 days to graduation) premiered and was promptly covered with a diamond disc status. 2021 was a breakthrough year for Mata. The first half of the year saw the release of the song Patoreakcja (Patoreaction) the first single heralding the second album, which set a daily streaming record in Poland for the streaming service Spotify. Mata was the first-ever Pole to make it to the Billboard 200 Excluding US list with Kiss cam (podryw roku), which was also the first Polish-language song to make it̨ to the list. The album also debuted at #4 in the Top 10 best-received albums of the premiere weekend on Spotify worldwide. Młody Matczak became the most popular album in Poland in 2021 on Spotify, and Mata himself became the most popular artist on this platform in Poland. JESTEM POJ384NY set another record for the highest number of listens within the first 24 hours on the Spotify platform in Poland for a single. In October 2023, Matczak took part in the Adidas brand's global campaign alongside such global pop culture stars as Zinedine Zidane, Jenna Ortega, Pusha T and David Beckham. That same year, Matczak unveiled his first independent release, the single GiEwOnT In December 2023 Mata shared the EP 2038: WARSZAWA with his listeners.
