Like Mike’s sound as a solo act, returning to the origin of his career as half of the world-renowned duo ‘Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike,’ was a given, situating himself in the contrast between the massive sounds of DVLM to the more minimalistic sound that takes root in the very start of their musical journey. His journey began with heavier influences from the popularity of dance music during the 90s, along with the harder styles and industrial techno that were prevalent while growing up in Belgium. These sounds were further established in Ibiza with groovy house, funk, electro, and minimal techno during the early 2000s and have all influenced the way Mike creates his own productions. Exploring the ranges of groovy rhythms, rolling beats, and percussive instruments into eclectic and indie vocals, elaborate and emotional melodies, dark stabs and pounding drums that echo into the realms of House, Indie, and Afro House, Mike transcends genres with his uplifting and captivating productions. He also encapsulates the sounds of Progressive and Melodic Techno, delivering a different and unique choice of sound catered to specific surroundings that will take listeners on an ethereal journey on each occasion. Opening 2024 with the release of a new album and alias - HEREON With tons of releases under Like Mike and more to come under HEREON, Like Mike is setting the stage for a powerful year of new music.
