Finnish Pop
Juha Tapio is a Finnish singer/songwriter with a pop touch who broke through to mainstream success in 2003 with his third album, Mitä Silmät Ei Nää. Born on February 5, 1974, in Ylistaro, Finland, he made his album debut in 1999 with Tuulen Valtakunta. The follow-up album, Tästä Kaikesta (2001), spawned the single "Syksy." Third album Mitä Silmät Ei Nää (2003) was a breakthrough success for Tapio, reaching the Top Ten of the Finnish albums chart and spawning a series of singles ("Mitä Silmät Ei Nää," "Ukkosta ja Ullakolla," "Haaveilija"). Ohikiitävää (2005) was similarly popular, peaking at number 11 on the album chart, while subsequent albums Kaunis Ihminen (2006) and Suurenmoinen Elämä (2008) both peaked at number two.
