About Jimmy Wahlsteen

Jimmy Wahlsteen is an internationally-recognized guitarist who was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. Inspired to learn guitar by listening to artists like KISS and Simon & Garfunkel, he began taking lessons at seven years of age and continued this study throughout high-school and university. In 2009, Jimmy released his debut album “181st Songs”, which was listed as one of the 25 essential CDs for 2010 by the American radio network, Echoes. The release led to widespread international interest, with Jimmy starring on the cover of the German magazine, Akustik Gitarre, and the centrefold of Acoustic Magazine, UK, as well as featuring on Swedish television and in several Scandinavian music magazines. His music was also picked up and used in the Canadian TV show, The LA Complex. The following year he began an eight-year period of touring, where he performed at festivals and events across 17 countries and played alongside artists such as Tommy Emmanuel and Jon Comm - all whilst composing and recording new material. Today, Jimmy uses Stockholm as his permanent base, dividing his time between composing from his studio, collaborating with other artists and touring as a solo guitarist. With a comprehensive back catalog of albums, EPs and singles to his name, the tracks “Portrait”, “If You Say So Romance” and “It’s Your Favorite” have each struck a particular chord with Spotify listeners, generating over seventeen million combined plays on the streaming platform.
