About He Is We

Rachel Taylor found inspiration for the name He Is We while growing up in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. Shy and awkward, Rachel found empowerment through her love for music and God. She learned to focus her nervousness into writing and singing and discovered that music provided a way for her to connect. She took a leap of faith and moved to Tacoma, WA when she was 18 years old. She formed the band He Is We after meeting guitarist, Trevor Kelly, at work, in 2008. They built a presence on social networking sites and signed with Universal Motown releasing My Forever, in 2010 and Skip to the Good Part, in 2011. Trevor left He Is We in 2012, leaving Rachel the sole consistent member of the group. Rachel created Come Alive, as Rachel Taylor, in 2014. Fighting for others was always easy for Rachel. She discovered fighting for herself while facing the many challenges associated with pursuing a music career was not as natural. She found her inner strength to survive in her faith. This inspired her to release War under the moniker She Is We. War contains songs detailing the raw emotions she had experienced up to that point in her life. She has said creating War helped her heal. As He Is We, Rachel, has continued to release music, including, Hold My Heart, in 2018 and Treehouse, in 2022. Rachel continues her journey as He Is We to create music with a purpose that unites broken hearts and inspires love for all and healing.
