About Grupo Yndio

Grupo Yndio (also known simply as Yndio) is a Mexican group of grupero-style ballads and polka and cumbia rhythms. Originally from Sonora in 1972 with former members of Los Pulpos, they established themselves arranging grupero-style versions of American soft rock and norteño-style pop ballads. Between 1972 (when they reached No. 1 on the singles chart with a cover of "I'm Left It All Up to You" and stayed there for four weeks) Dale and Grace, and 1975, they recorded seven albums for Polygram and scored one series of Top Ten hits in Mexico with versions of "Love Hurts" by Nazareth, "Kiss and say good bay" by The Manhattans, "Telephone Line" by ELO, the version of "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers, "Everytime You Go" by Paul Young," and "We Said Goodbye" by Dave Maclean. In 1985, their album Adios reached the Top Five of the regional Mexican albums chart. The band split from Polygram México to join Philips Colombia in 1987 and The hits kept coming for the rest of the decade. They recorded infrequently because they gave hundreds of concerts on two continents each year, from Mexico to Central and South America and the United States. By some estimates, they played more than 290 dates a year. Yndio recorded even less during the 90s. Today they remain an independent group and continue to perform to this day with great success. Although no longer the original lineup, but they continue to maintain their style and success for 52 years.
