Devine Carama is an Emmy award winning hip hop artist, community activist, & motivational youth speaker from Lexington, KY. He is also the founder of a Kentucky based nonprofit organization for kids called Believing In Forever Inc & a youth programming and arts business called Kingtuky LLC, as well as an educator at the University of Kentucky & Eastern Kentucky University where he teaches a class called “Lyricism & Leadership: Hip Hop & Community Change”. He recently performed outside in the cold for 48 hours straight to raise awareness for his annual youth coat drive. He recently won the 2017 Lauren K. Weinberg Humanitarian Award, the 2017 Coretta Scott “Spirit of Ivy” Award for community service, the 2018 Black Achievers’ “Special Achiever of the Year Award, and George W.H. Bush’s “Point Of Light” Volunteer Award. Musically, Devine has worked with and/or opened up for acts such as Rakim, LL Cool J, Big KRIT, J. Cole, Talib Kweli, Nappy Roots, Black Eyed Peas, Canibus, De La Soul, Little Brother, & many more. His music has been covered in major music publications like The Source, Vibe, & Complex Magazine. Through his Kingtucky LLC business he hosted local artistic events such as Brown Sugar, Community Expressions, Neo Soul Nights & Poetry in Motion. His youth organization has facilitated such initiatives as Dads On Campus at Kentucky State University, L.E.A.D. In-school mentoring program & more
