About Bukas Palad Music Ministry

The Bukas Palad Music Ministry is a community who compose, record, perform original Filipino liturgical music. Bukas Palad was founded by 3 high school friends, Fr. Manoling Francisco SJ, Norman Agatep and Jandi Arboleda, in the Ateneo de Manila University and was formally formed in 1986. Since then the group has produced 20 albums and written multiple songs which include "I Will Sing Forever", "Tanging Yaman", "Sa'yo Lamang", "Hindi Kita Malilimutan" and many more. Over the years popular Filipino artists like Lea Salonga, Regine Velasquez, Gary V, Basil Valdez, Jamie Rivera, Joey Albert, Cooky Chua, and Noel Cabangon have recorded and popularized Bukas Palad songs which helped propel the group's music into the mainstream audience. It seems all this has happened almost by accident. But perhaps it seems that way because Bukas Palad has always been nurtured by the generosity of members, family, and friends. All this has been inspired and sustained by the grace of God, Whose love and generosity break all boundaries and confound all expectations, and Who shelters us always in the palm of His hand.
