Aya Nakamura (née Aya Danioko in Bamako, Mali) is a multi-platinum, chart-topping French-Malian pop singer mixing Afrobeat & RnB sounds, known for the #1 hit single & global smash Djadja. Coming from a family of griots (West African storytellers & poets of oral tradition), she is the oldest of five siblings. Moving to France as a child she resided in Paris Northern suburbs. She later launched into music taking the name Nakamura, after the NBC Heroes series character Hiro Nakamura. In 2017 her debut album Journal Intime was propelled by her first Platinum hit Comportement. In Spring 2018 she drops the # 1 hit Djadja -certified Diamond- then conquering the charts in 36 other countries.
