Important Testing Information

Testing Letters: Please return the 1st page NO LATER THAN November 24th. After turning in, and reviewed by your instructor, you will receive a black stripe for having a black belt attitude showing you are ready to test!
Testing Payments: Due by Physical Test (December 6th) for $65 and can be paid on the Destiny App or at the front desk. This covers additional processing costs, belts, and boards. Special Note: Due to increased pricing from our association, pricing for testing will increase to $70 in 2026.
Essays Due: For those testing for Senior Green and above, your essay is due at Physical Test. See the UPDATED (2021 or newer) Gup study guide for word count AND your essay topic.
Dress for Success! Show you’re serious about your martial arts by dressing in your stain and wrinkle-free uniforms for the Physical Test. Students are required to have all patches sewn on and proper trim (green, brown, and red belts). Pictures will be taken!
For those in the 8 and above program
Written Test Begins November 24th: we will be doing a written test during your regularly scheduled classes. Be sure to study the NEW Gup Study Guides (updated in 2021). You will study the section for your CURRENT Rank (i.e., a Senior orange belt will study and take the orange belt test).
Stripe Testing Begins December 1st: This is where you are tested on your hands, feet, self-defense, forms, and weapons (if applicable) in a smaller group setting to be able to receive immediate feedback. Students will have multiple attempts to earn their stripes. Stripe testing will be done in your regularly scheduled class.
For All Ages All Ranks:
Physical Test on December 6th: This is where students are tested on all techniques learned and on physical stamina. Come prepared by staying hydrated and having a nutritious breakfast! If you cannot attend, inform Mr. Master or Mrs. Master Aderhold PRIOR to the test. Classes are cancelled for those NOT testing. Be sure to check the adjusted times for when YOUR test is.

Tiny Tigers and Little Dragons: 9:00am-9:30am
Beginner Ranks All Ages: 9:45am-11:15am
Black Belt Promotions: 11:15am-11:45am
Advanced Ranks All Ages: 12:00pm-2:00pm
Belt Awards on December 13th: Belts will be awarded during your NORMAL scheduled class times at Destiny! Be on the lookout for our Annual Banquet on January 10th at the Peoria Community Center! This will take place instead of our Belt Awards Celebration party.
