About the event

TLC: caring for the dying - holistic education course
Thank you for your interest in the Tender Loving Care: Caring for the Dying — Holistic Education Course.

The course was commissioned by NHS England (NHSE) in 2025 and is hosted by fully trained Soul Midwives and complementary therapists, Anna Sadler and Christina Murt RN.

This course is certified in partnership with Felicity Warner & the School of Soul Midwives. The day is a standalone course but also serves as your basic introduction to Soul Midwifery - if this is the path for you.

This course is open to everyone & especially welcomes people in a caring role either professionally or personally, people interested in training as end-of-life companions, and anyone who would like to feel more prepared for when the time comes.

The day provides a gentle, inviting, and heartwarming space, fostering a safe, compassionate environment for connection, understanding and care.

We cover 4 modules during the course of the day:
4 Stages of Dying
Soul Midwife Toolbox including soothing and gentle touch
Deep Listening and Tender Conversations
How to Facilitate a Bedside Vigil

Attendees have shared that this training day should be essential for everyone as it helps to reduce the fear around death & dying and brings hope to the hearts of many.

Friends who have attended the course while caring for loved ones in palliative care often share how it has helped to ease the “sting” of death and dying, reducing overwhelm and feelings of anxiety.

MORE INFORMATION:

Those who have attended after their loved one has passed recommend joining as soon as possible. Many find comfort in understanding the dying process and feel reassured that they did everything they could during that time.

Care professionals from various backgrounds say the course provides practical tools to support families and help them understand how to assist. They also appreciate how it complements medical care, bridging gaps and fostering better collaboration between professional teams and families.

Friends can expect a supportive, warm container for the day — a nurturing space which fosters care, love and warmth.
