About the event

Day of Ancient Board Games
Penfield Recreation's Daytime Education at Recreation program (DEAR) will host a "Day of Ancient Board Games" on Friday, October 17, 10:00AM-2:00PM at Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Rd., Penfield. Registration is required.

Step back in time and immerse yourself in the playful pastimes of ancient civilizations! From the strategy of Hnefatafl, Konane, and the Royal Game of Ur, this interactive event brings games of antiquity back to life. Participants will learn and try their hand at a variety of different board games once played by the likes of Mesopotamians, Vikings, and Sumerians. You will engage in ancient traditions, discovering the surprising ways ancient cultures used games to teach, compete, and connect. Fun, history, and friendly competition for all!

This day will include light morning refreshments and lunch.
