We love receiving vase donations and here’s why:
1. Most often, people don’t realize how wasteful the fresh floral industry can be when it comes to vases. Donating helps the environment from vases ending up in the landfill. It also keeps vases from gathering dust in your garage or under the kitchen sink or from sitting on a second-hand store shelf for months and months.
2. It allows us to put your money towards more flowers and the design. This is wonderful for those who want to show their affection with flowers but may be a little restricted due to budget.
3. Although we don’t always use all the vases we receive due to damages, age, specialization, etc. we LOVE seeing all the unique and sometimes vintage containers that our customers drop off.
To promote less waste in our industry, we are offering a Vase Exchange Program.
What that means:
1. For every vase you bring in to donate or reuse for an arrangement, you get one punch on your Vase Exchange Card.
2. For every 20 punches, you receive 1 FREE wrapped bouquet $20 in value. That’s $1 per vase!
3. We will have to be selective about what vases we can accept for the Vase Exchange Program. For example, teeny tiny bud vases do not count unless you bring in multiple. Any damaged vases or containers that are too specialty are not accepted. Vases that are aged and out of style will not be counted as our designs need to reflect modern trends. Any vases that are not accepted for this program will be returned to you, or we can dispose of the container for you.
4. A perfect option for those who regularly receive flowers. The Vase Exchange Card is also a good way to help give a little ‘nudge’ to your man that you deserve flowers more often 😉
To kick off our ongoing Vase Exchange Program, we will have a mass donation event. On Saturday, July 26, you can drop off your vases at the shop and pick up your Vase Exchange Card. If this is a one time donation for you, we will have a special gift of thanks for you.
Due to the large amount of vases we will be receiving this day, there will be bonuses for vases that come in clean. The best way to clean your vases is to run them through the dishwasher or scrubbing them with a mild bleach solution.
What we will accept:
- Glass
- Ceramic (inside of vase/container must be glazed so water does not seep out)
- Baskets with plastic liners intact (only wash the liner)
- Metal containers with plastic liners intact (only wash the liner)
- Any floral foam brand mechanics - trays, dishes, cages, etc
As a thank you for your help in reducing industry waste, we will also be running 20% off for a fun day of shopping. Join us Saturday, July 26!
We are happy to do our part in reducing waste in our industry, we just need your help! We hope to see you there!
