Are you a fan of classic hits like “Heat Wave,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “Baby Love,” “What’s Going On,” “Can’t Help Myself,” “I Second That Emotion,” and “My Girl”? Do you love the iconic sounds of Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, The Supremes, and The Four Tops? Then get ready—That Motown Band is bringing the timeless magic of Motown to the Paramount on April 12! This powerhouse ensemble of vocalists and musicians has spent years wowing audiences with pitch-perfect performances and the unmistakable groove that defined a generation.
Joining That Motown Band is Garfield Fleming, a soul-singing powerhouse and former member of The Delfonics for 25 years alongside William Hart. With a striking resemblance to David Ruffin—and a voice that evokes Ruffin, Bobby Womack, and other legends—Garfield has a way of transporting listeners back in time. His 1981 solo single “Please Don’t Send Me Away” remains a global favorite and continues to garner fans around the world.
The band’s musical director, Tom Schizzano, is a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, vocalist, and seasoned producer whose work has appeared on CBS/Paramount, Disney, PBS, and NBC/Universal. Tom has performed live with Hall & Oates, Cyndi Lauper, Lou Christie, and Paul Shaffer, and has produced and arranged music for artists like The Tokens and Jimmy Clanton. He has also scored multiple independent films and continues to create from his Hauppauge, NY production studio.
