For Genessa, this tribute is deeply personal. Growing up as a Colombian-American young woman, her musical influences ranged from Gwen Stefani to Mariah Carey—until discovering Selena, who became a defining inspiration. Selena’s style, charisma, and music shaped Genessa’s artistic identity, laying the foundation for a career that has included national touring with the all-girl pop group 3rd Faze, appearances on American Idol and It’s Showtime at the Apollo, and work as a background vocalist on UK pop star Cheryl Cole’s album 3 Words.
