This immersive course is a practical introduction to the foundations of pattern cutting. This hands-on workshop will guide you through drafting a set of basic blocks – bodice, sleeve and skirt – and introduce you to the core principles and techniques that we can use to alter the the fit and transform them into all manner of designs.

I have always cut my own patterns, and I love the freedom of creativity and the endless possibilities that it opens up. It is such a broad subject and one in which you never stop learning, but this short course will provide a great foundation from which to begin your pattern cutting adventures.
Spaces are limited to 4 people so that everyone can have the attention and help that they need. There will be equipment available in the studio, but if you have your own then it will be useful to bring: Pencil, eraser, set square or pattern master, measuring tape, scotch tape, notepad.
