Az információ hatalom, de nem mindegy, kihez, milyen mértékben és milyen formában jut el. Bizonyos történelmi korokban kiváltság volt a könyvtárba járás, de még az olvasás is. Ma úgy hisszük, hogy minden tudás egy kattintásnyira van az interneten. De vajon meg tudjuk-e találni a számunkra valóban szükséges információt? El tudjuk-e dönteni, hogy hiteles-e a megtalált információ? Ha a Google eddig a barátunk volt, akkor a ChatGPT egyenesen a testvérünk lesz, ha az információkeresés a cél. De tisztában vagyunk-e azzal, hogy a számunkra megjelenített információk szűrtek, személyre szabottak? Előadásunkban arra keressük a választ, hogyan alakítják a technológiai innovációk (különösen a mesterséges intelligencia) a tudásról alkotott képünket: vajon gazdagítják, irányítják, vagy inkább torzítják azt?
Dr. Egervári Dóra a PTE BTK adjunktusa, a Humán Fejlesztési és Művelődéstudományi Intézet igazgatója, a Könyvtár- és Információtudományi Tanszék vezetője, a PTE Digitális Oktatás- és Tanulástámogató központ szakértő munkatársa. 2009 óta tanít a PTE-n, PhD fokozatát 2015-ben szerezte meg. Kutatási területe az információs műveltség és digitális kompetencia fejlesztési lehetőségei a köz-, felső- és felnőttoktatásban, a blended learning és a digitális kultúra kihívásai. Tevékenységét a Pécsi Akadémiai Bizottság 2015-ben a régió legjobb PhD munkája díjjal és 2023-ban Tudományos Díjjal ismerte el.

From librarians to Artificial Intelligence: The promises and pitfalls of AI in everyday life
A lecture by Dr. Dóra Egervári, PhD (Institute Director, Department Head, Assistant Professor)
Information is power - but it matters who receives it, to what extent, and in what form. In certain historical periods, even visiting a library - or simply knowing how to read- was a privilege. Today, we tend to believe that all knowledge is just one click away on the internet. But can we truly find the information we actually need? Are we able to determine whether the information we find is reliable? If Google has been our friend so far, then ChatGPT might well become our sibling when it comes to information-seeking. But are we aware that the information presented to us is filtered and personalized? This lecture explores how technological innovations (especially artificial intelligence) are shaping our understanding of knowledge. Do they enrich it, guide it, or perhaps distort it?
About the speaker:
Dr. Dóra Egervári is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Pécs. She is Director of the Institute for Human Development and Cultural Studies, Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, and an expert staff member at the university’s Centre for Supporting Digital Teaching and Learning. She has been teaching at the University of Pécs since 2009 and earned her PhD in 2015. Her research focuses on the development of information literacy and digital competence in public, higher, and adult education, as well as the challenges of blended learning and digital culture. Her work has been recognized by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences’ Pécs Regional Committee with the award for the region’s best PhD dissertation in 2015 and the Scientific Award in 2023.
