About the event

The Life of Bessie Coleman

Bessie Coleman was the first Black person in the world to earn a pilot's license. By 1926, at the age of 34, she was one of the most popular stunt pilots in America. Tragically, she was killed in an accident, preparing for an airshow that same year.

Come hear how she overcame incredible odds to become a beloved American hero.
