Princesses with Power Tools is an event held by Pearadox's Gearbox Girls initiative, where robotics students teach elementary and middle school girls how to use power tools while dressed as princesses. This shows younger girls that being feminine and pursuing a passion in STEM are not mutually exclusive. Our hope is that by encouraging girls to pursue STEM from a young age, there will be more girls that develop a passion for STEM and join the FIRST Robotics community in the future.
At this event, girls will participate in activites such as the Lego Robotics challenge, learning about power tools, and creating their own wood working project, along with other STEM activities.
