POW Discussion with Daniel Markowitz

Peabody Historical Society will host Daniel Markowitz on Sept. 7 at 2pm at the Peabody Township Library in the Ann Potter Room. Daniel will share his fictional story of Rolf Mueller, part of Afrika Korps captured in North Africa. He would be sent to the United States, to the new Camp Concordia and on the the POW camp in Peabody Kansas. This shares the story of the camp, work and relating to the community. I have read the book and it is well researched and reflects many events that were very similar to stories in Peabody and the community. Peabody Historical Society will serve light refreshments, set up a display of memorabilia from the museum of the collection of POW related items. We are hoping many from the community will come and share your stories, memories and items that have been collected. Peabody HIstorical Society
