Matthew Borr has been writing and performing music for two decades. He has performed extensively throughout the U.S. (all the way to Alaska) and recorded with a number of diverse artists. He released his first solo album, Trains in the Field, in 2015. In 2019, with the duo Borr McFerrin, he released Bottle Makes Three. In July 2025, his second solo album, June Star, was released.
His original music reflects the powerful themes in life: love, war, heartache, and art. His original music is an acoustic twist on contemporary folk, indie rock, and blues. He updates traditional Americana while respecting and expressing the heritage of folk and blues with chops and soulful singing.
