The instructor: Louise Ramsey
A retired Speech-Language Pathologist with over 25 years of experience supporting children with disabilities. Throughout my career, I also enjoyed teaching Communication courses to adults at several colleges in Suffolk County.
Over the years, I’ve cultivated a deep passion for gardening, which has grown into a meaningful new chapter in my life. I'm currently pursuing certification as a Master Gardener through Cornell Cooperative Extension. (Will be completed on 6/11/25)
Inspired by this passion, I recently developed a program designed to teach adults how to grow vegetables using everyday household containers. This course empowers people to stretch their food budgets by creating productive container gardens on patios, decks, or even within flower beds.
I'm thrilled to share this knowledge with the community—showing how a single tomato seed, nurtured in the right container, can produce 10 to 20 pounds of food. It’s truly like growing money on a plant!
Louise will also be teaching this class with her sister Phyllis Norchi, she is also pursuing her certification as a Master Gardener in training. (6/11/25)
