Goat Before You Vote: A Fundraiser for Democracy
Supporting California’s YES on 50 Campaign
Please join us for an afternoon of goat yoga and a healing sound bath — a joyful, grounding way to reconnect with ourselves, our neighbors, and the democratic ideals we hold dear. Together, we’ll raise awareness and funds for California’s YES on 50 campaign, which seeks to counteract recent legislative efforts in Texas and beyond that threaten to silence voters’ voices.
Let’s come together — to stretch, to breathe, to laugh, and to reaffirm our shared humanity.
Because the future of our nation begins with how we show up for one another — with compassion, courage, and community.

Karen Osborne is a lawyer, mother, and first-generation daughter of Jamaican immigrants who believes that defending democracy can begin with laughter, movement, and a few goats. Refusing to let fear keep her silent, she’s hosting “Goat Before You Vote” — a joyful gathering that blends yoga, sound healing, and civic purpose to ignite a movement of inspired action and remind us to exercise both our bodies and our rights. Choosing joy over fear, Karen is gathering her community to breathe, stretch, and stand for something bigger than themselves. She believes change starts right where we are — quite literally, in our own backyards.
Proud “Goat Mama,” Michelle Tritten (right) founded Hello Critter in 2016, sharing her love of animals, nature, yoga, and community. Alongside certified yoga instructor Beverly O'Donohue (left), whose mindful, accessible teaching creates a fun and nurturing space for all levels, they bring people and goats together for unforGOATable moments of joy, connection, and well-being.
Emily Williams will be sharing her gifts as a trained sound bath practitioner. A long-time friend and Karen’s former UCLA college roommate, Emily enthusiastically offered her support for this important cause — a beautiful reminder that when we are inspired to move, others rise up to join and support us.
If yoga isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other ways to take part. You can write YES on 50 postcards at our community tables or bid on one of Karen’s love-infused, handcrafted pottery pieces.
