Join us as we celebrate All Souls’ Day on Sunday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. with a solemn choral Mass at historic Saint Andrew Church in Old Pasadena, California. The Mass will feature the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré in its earliest version, dating from 1887/1888, based upon the edition by Marc Rigaudière. Additional repertoire includes selections of Gregorian chant, performed by the Cappella Musica of Saint Andrew Church and members of the Saint Andrew Sinfonia.

St. Andrew Church, an architectural treasure of Old Town Pasadena, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is becoming known for its music program, which includes the parish music ministry, the children’s choir school, a chant school, and four in-residence ensembles. The Music at Saint Andrew concert series regularly features top-level musical ensembles and is the official Southern California home of The Tallis Scholars.
The current church building was built in 1927 and the parish itself, the fourth oldest in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles after the missions, dates from 1886. The current church took inspiration from various Roman basilicas, notably early fifth-century Santa Sabina (the interior of Saint Andrew church) and the medieval Santa Maria in Cosmedin (the façade and bell tower of Saint Andrew church).
