Centering Sounds: African & Latin American Rhythms by Earthseed

he Earthseed Band is a collective of musicians formed through the world music initiatives of the Soul Force Project in Altadena. Reflecting the diverse cultural background of the community, the band brings together musical influences from folk, popular and jazz music. Inspired by rhythms from South Asia, Africa, Latin America with songs that inspire positive change, empowerment and creative expression. Earthseed is inspired by Octavia Butler’s vision of new community built out of the ruins of the old, one which affirms the value of each member in a collective emergence of unity in diversity.
