10405 25th Street East, Parrish, United States
Join us for a relaxing guided paddle in a secluded bay at one of Manatee County's newest conservation properties, Crooked River Preserve. As the sun dips below the horizon, we'll turn our attention to the east and watch the full moon rise. If the skies are clear, we can expect an incredible treat as the rising moon reflects the orange rays of the setting sun.
This program is suitable for individuals ages 16 and older. Children under 16 years old may attend with a parent or guardian in a tandem kayak. This is an easy paddle; however, it is not suitable for beginners, and some prior paddling experience is required. The launch area is unimproved and may require walking through slippery mud, tall grasses, and mangroves.
All participants must wear a life jacket while on the water.
Single and tandem kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are available to borrow free of charge, with a suggested donation of $25 per person. If you would like to borrow a kayak, please choose the "borrow a kayak" ticket type. Otherwise, participants must have their own canoe, kayak, or SUP and safety gear, including a life jacket and whistle.
Participants should bring a water bottle and wear clothing appropriate for the weather. Please wear shoes that strap or tie to your feet, no flip-flops. Your feet and lower legs will get wet and dirty. You may wish to bring a towel and dry clothes/shoes to change into after the paddle. Please note there are NO restrooms or water fountains on-site. Please use the restroom before you arrive.
This program is provided in partnership with the Manatee County Natural Resources Department.
