Kell 18.00– kohtumine kunstnikuga ja residentuuris valminud loomingu esitlus Kultuuriklubis Tempel.
Simon Whetham on kunstnik Bristolist, Inglismaalt. Tema loomingu fookuses on ruumis või keskkonnas eksisteerivate helipotentsiaalide avamine ja kuuldavaks tegemine performatiivsete esituste või installatiivsete sekkumiste kaudu.
Simon on teinud ulatuslikku rahvusvahelist koostööd tantsijate, muusikute, visuaal- ja videokunstnikega. Lisaks on ta publitseerinud oma heliloomingut erinevatel helikandjatel ning osalenud Eestis Mooste KülalisStuudio (MoKS) programmis. Üldiselt ongi tema elustiiliks ühest loomeresidentuurist teise kulgemine – seda juba üle kümne aasta.

Sündmus on osa Pärnu Kunstnike Maja sügisesest residentuuriprogrammist (PAH). Residentuuriprogrammi viib läbi MTÜ Pure Art Productions, koordinaator on Janno Bergmann.

6:00 PM – Artist talk and presentation of works created during the residency at Kultuuriklubi Tempel.
Simon Whetham is a sound artist from Bristol, England. His artistic focus lies in revealing and making audible the sonic potential that exists within a space or environment — through performative presentations or site-responsive installations.
Simon has engaged in extensive international collaborations with dancers, musicians, visual and video artists. In addition, he has released his sound works on various audio formats and has previously participated in the Mooste Guest Studio (MoKS) residency programme in Estonia. For more than ten years, his way of life has been a continuous movement from one artist residency to another.

The event is part of the Pärnu Artists’ House autumn residency programme (PAH). The programme is organised by NGO Pure Art Productions, coordinated by Janno Bergmann.
