Outdoor Movie Night: My Side of the Mountain (1969) + Q&A with Twig George and S'mores

Join us under the stars as we watch the classic novel My Side of the Mountain come to life on the big screen! This special outdoor screening of the 1969 film adaptation of Jean Craighead George’s beloved book follows the unforgettable journey of Sam Gribley, a boy who leaves city life behind to live in the wilderness.

We’ll have a cozy fire pit and all the fixings for s’mores – perfect for setting the scene as we immerse ourselves in Sam’s wild adventure.

As a special treat, Twig George, daughter of Jean Craighead George and author in her own right, will be joining us for a live Q&A after the film. Come with your questions and your curiosity!

✨ This event marks the exciting conclusion of our Summer with Sam Intergenerational Book Club – but everyone is welcome, whether you’ve read the book or not! NOTE: If you haven’t read the book, here is a good excuse to do so.

Payment and Cancellation Policy: Payment is due online at the time of registration. Cancellations made seven or more days in advance of the event will receive a refund minus a 5% processing fee. Cancellations made within seven days of the event will not receive a refund. Events and field trips with fees of $10 or less are not refundable at any time unless canceled by NHSM. NHSM retains the right to update or change these requirements at any time.
