First Day Hike

Join historic site staff for a guided hike on the site's new Interpretive Trail and beyond. This easy 1-mile hike will include interpretation of historic mining structures and equipment and the long-term changes brought on by the lead industry. The trail features a mix of surfaces, including gravel and pavement. Portions of the trail have steep slopes. The hike will begin at the site office/gatehouse.

This event is free, open to the public, and suitable for all ages. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather; wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes; and bring water and snacks. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash.

If the hike is canceled, an announcement will be emailed to registrants and posted on the historic site's Facebook page and the Park and Site Status Map.
