Bourbon County Democrats Executive Committee invites all Democrats, Independents, and those seeking a new political home to a FREE Meet & Greet at Bourbon County Park on Legion Drive on September 18 from 5 until 8 p.m. Our 6th Congressional District neighbors are included in the invitation. Food, fun, games, music, and of course, a smidgin of politics are planned.
We’ll serve a BBQ dinner with sides and desserts from 5 til 6:30. There will be brief speeches and Q&A opportunities by candidates for 2026 from 6 til 7 p.m. At 7, Bourbon County’s own Eric Cummins, one of Central Kentucky finest singer/guitarists, will play and sing the blend of country, classic rock, and blues he calls “Americana.”
The entire event is free to all, and children are definitely included in the invitation; however, donations will be gladly accepted.
Several candidates already running for offices in 2026 have agreed to attend: Zach Dembo, Cherlynn Stevenson and David Kloiber are candidates for the 6th Congressional District seat being vacated by Andy Barr; Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman will attend, as will Harrison County native Colmon Elridge, Chairman of the Kentucky Democratic Party. Invitations are out to several other candidates and state Democratic officials.
Eric Cummins will play from 7 to 8 p.m. When Eric appears at one of our local street music events, music lovers of all ages and types find their way to hear him play, solo or with his band, the Marble Creek Rangers. There aren’t many music venues in Central KY that he and his group have not entertained.
Mark your calendars now for the Democrats’ FREE event Thursday September 18 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Bourbon County Park on Legion Drive.
